Introduction

Hi There!

My name is Kyle. I work in IT, so I deal with all sorts of technology on a daily basis. When I get home from work, it only gets crazier. When I look at my desk, I see two monitors, a macbook (running windows), a few phones laying about and a pebble smartwatch. Oh, theres a chromecast hidden behind a monitor as well as a bluetooth headset in a pile of keys and pens. Now, when you look beneath the desk, you'll see my home built desktop... a haswell i5 with a geforce gtx 760. Just behind the tower, there's a pile of wires that have no hope of organization. Most are tied up, but there are so many. That pile has a UPS, cable modem, router, and an external hard drive (available wirelessly through the router).

So, thats a rough summary of my technological situation at home. Too much tech? No such thing. I should mention that's only scratching the surface. I've got a solidoodle 2 (3d printer) in the other room, so I end up building my own gadgets from time to time. I've actually gotten so used to it that I forget my keychain is a 3d printed "keyblade". Then of course, I've got bins of old gadgets that are seldom used, but oh so fun to dig through and find some old stuff to play with. I've even got a palm pilot or two somewhere. My last dig resulted in an iPod shuffle returning to active duty in my car.

One thing I love about work is that I'm location independent. Every computer on the property is mine, and I can work just as well from anywhere, as all my files are stored on our local server. Of course, there are a few computers I prefer, but mostly because I like to be in my own office. At the moment, my work desk has two computers (one with two monitors) a laptop. Then, on a shelf above it, theres an iMac that I've turned into a windows machine as my boss hates apple products. I thoroughly enjoy how much technology surrounds me there. Oh, I forgot to mention the two TVs that run off another computer that is simply used to display live updates to our network status.

Thats my set up! I love technology, and I hope to provide you with some quality reviews and interesting tricks to make your devices work together in unexpected ways.
